Kir Industries

History

Once a premier provider of high-tech stand-alone defense systems, Kir was shaken to its core after the death of its founder and former president. Rumors of corruption, industrial espionage, and more quickly brought the company's stock into a steep nosedive until its current CEO came to power. What went on behind the closed doors of Kir's boardroom is unknown, but the result was the immediate public disbanding of the former board of directors. Since then, Kir's entire decision-making structure has become dependent on one man: the current CEO and son of the former president, Felis Kir.

Current Status

Although it was dealt a serious blow by past events, Kir Industries is beginning to make a comeback. Under the leadership of its new CEO, the company is refocusing its efforts on developing specialized humanoid combat systems, capitalizing on the relatively low-key presence of security systems that resemble ordinary people. Its initial forays into the field have been enormously successful. Currently, a number of high-profile corporations have commissioned Kir to provide security for their own firms.

Products

Kir Royale Series I: Designed primarily as an offensive juggernaut. Its chassis is constructed of a Kir-exclusive alloy whose chemical structure is a closely guarded secret, but has been demonstrated to be extremely resistant to most forms of conventional weaponry, as well as more unusual conditions like extreme heat and cold. Kir detractors are quick to note that many of the 'bonus defenses' possessed by a Royale series in fact address not only the type of weapons that might be utilized for industrial espionage, but that which would be expected from some superhuman assault.

The Royale series is mostly programmed for melee combat, taking advantage of the enormous physical strength it is constructed to exert, although each unit also possesses substantial skill in firearms use. Its routines favor tactics likely to minimize damage to the surrounding area, especially if said damage would endanger the resources of the corporate location it has been instructed to secure.

Kir Imperial Series I: The Kir Imperial model is designed to provide support capabilities in the field, and generally possess limited offensive abilities. Imperials are ideal for protection purposes, designed primarily as backup units working in conjunction with human or Royale Series models. In this capacity, a construct can greatly enhance the effectiveness of any security team.

Future Products

Kir Royale Series II: The series II model prototype combines the past durability and physical strength of the Royale Series I with self-contained energy weapons in order to decrease reliance on requisitioning outside weaponry to fulfill mission objectives in difficult situations. Its AI also includes an alternate operating mode for extreme combat situations, allowing it to ignore previously defined ally or priority protection target designations. Because this second mode allows the Series II an enormous amount of freedom in action, a single prototype is currently being tested under close scrutiny.

Kir Imperial Series II: Although an initial design (the Kir Imperial that appears to help Kuroda retrieve a kidnapping victim) for the Imperial II was constructed, it is obvious that the Royale II is Kir's biggest priority at the moment.
