- Kuroda's exclamation, 「来た来た!」, means something like "It's finally here!" or "At last!".
- When Rad is describing himself, he mentions that he has had "hundreds of girlfriends", a catchphrase featured in every episode of the Tek Jansen animated series.
- Rad's transformation into his armored form is reminiscent of the transformation sequences in Sailor Moon and other magical girl/boy series. His cry, "Radical Comic Power, Make Up", is an obvious reference to Sailor Moon's "Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up!" used in the third series.
- When Rad is challenged by his teammates for doing nothing, his immediate response is to point his finger in an accusatory fashion and shout "Your Mom" in a bastardization of Phoenix Wright's "OBJECTION!" catchphrase.
Chapter Two: Stormcloud
Synopsis
Squall, an old acquaintance of Kur's, shows up in Paragon only to run into two members of the Andou-gumi. Meanwhile, having successfully completed the destruction of several Clockwork robots, Kuroda returns to his apartment... only to be joined by Rad and Rue, who quickly requisition his sofa and begin squabbling over tortilla chips. After learning about Squall's disappearance from Kir Imperial, however, Kur is forced to take action...

- I totally stole Squall's eyepatch and hammer thing from Rabi. I am a bad person. But Rabi is just SO DAMN COOL. Damn.
- Squall's name is a reference to Final Fantasy VII and VIII. "Cloud Black" is the name of an Advent Children-themed cell phone released in Japan, and "Squall" is the name of the main character of FF8. Oh, and about that thing about FF protagonists being modeled after Gackt? Tetsuya Nomura, you gave up hiding your man-crush, didn't you? Can I refer to you as the "Shadow King" now that GACKT HIMSELF is just IN Dirge of Cerberus?
- "Kir Imperial" is a kind of cocktail. Actually, if you look at the wiki entry, Felis's name should be pretty obvious in origin as well.
- The "Rouga" from "Dairouga" is from "Naruto: Daikatsugeki! Yukihime ninpôchô dattebayo!!", which has a character named Rouga Nadare. I personally thought he and the other snow ninja were kind of lame, but Kakashi seemed impressed.
Chapter Three: Manticore Resolve Part I
Synopsis
Despite reliving the fateful past explosion of the space station ALEXIS, Rad convinces Kur to take part in a mysterious contest hosted by Manticore, one of Paragon City's most recognized superheroes.

- ALEXIS's struts are named after areas of the Big Shell from Metal Gear Solid 2.
- Rad and CapeMike's exchange upon Sing's entrance is remarkably similar to a Hsu and Chan comic in which the Tanaka brothers' eternal rivals make their entrance.
